10 to 1 says he was the class snitch in grade skool

A hearing officer on behalf of the Knoxville Beer Board revoked a bar’s beer permit for violating COVID-19 curfew mandates. The bar, Billiards and Brews, had accrued 18 curfew violations up to that point. The hearing officer, Gerald Gulley, issued the decision following a special hearing on Tuesday. According to the Knoxville City Code, businesses can’t apply for another permit for ten years after it has been revoked.

  1. He's giving a pass to the gay bar, so I'm guessing he was the class cork soaker.

  2. Well, the view from here in Knoxville is this: Despite all the COVID bullshit, the place had become a nexus for late night shenanigans in the bar and out in the parking lot. Occasional fights, and a recent deadly shooting sort of sealed the deal on the place as a low-life hangout. I live about 10 miles from that place and there were cop cars there frequently... so a public nuisance.

  4. Idiots like this bureaucrat shouldn't be allowed any power over any body. Probably never started or operated a business and has zero idea what it takes.

    1. 1979-89, I owned a restaurant business for ten years of sixteen-hour days.

      1989-2003, I contracted at a bureaucracy for about twenty-minutes per six-hour shift.
Those people have zero-zero-zero concept of:
      * the source of their income
      * value-received by the customers compared to the cost to the customers
