2012 Northern Rockies Machinegun and Cannon Shoot

The Northern Rockies Machinegun and Cannon shoot is an event that takes place every summer. Located on a ranch just outside Casper, Wyoming, the event is a benefit to help raise money for the Casper Mountain Volunteer Fire Department. The event takes place on a Friday through Sunday. The shoot is open to the public. Anyone can purchase rounds to fire semi or fully automatic weapons, including the chance to shoot a 30mm round from the Stuart Light Tank or the 90mm Cannon.

  2. Been there a few times. Favorite part is when they count out the cost when someone fires the mini gun. I believe at the time it was $100 a second. Have some videos of the night time shoot. Awesome time.

  3. 37mm gun from the Stuart. Unless they re-gunned the tank.

  4. I was surprised to see my rifle at 7:15! Not me shooting it though, it was a renter.

  5. Mad minute. 1967 my rifle platoon was on perimeter for one night with an armored cavalry platoon to our right -- seven ACAVs, seven M2 and 14 M60. Just before daylight the ACAVs opened up with all guns. Two things: I had never seen an armored cav platoon fire everything at once; and, nobody told us they were going to do that. A lot of things soldiers do, people would pay good money to see. That was one.
