Does not change my mind: the egg. Whatever animal produced the chicken would have born that animal in an egg. Live birth in terrestrial animals is rare and it does not make sense that a live-born animal would revert to the egg in a single evolutionary pass. Therefore, the hen/chicken was encased in an egg before it walked the earth and then laid the first chicken egg.
I always figured the chicken crossed the road for some Fowl reason and the bear went over the mountain to see what was Bruin. The chicken before the egg or vise versa is more than I care to dwell on. It was just fun to read. Appreciate the entertainment.
Dinosaurs and insects, both of which predate chickens, laid eggs.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to make the case that chickens came first.

DeleteCreator God.
