Dozens of firearms stolen from Franklin gun shop

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — Investigators are offering a reward after dozens of firearms were stolen from a Franklin gun shop late last month.

Franklin police reported approximately 41 firearms were stolen from the Franklin Gun Shop on Lakeview Drive on Jan. 28. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigators are in the process of conducting an inventory to determine the exact number of firearms stolen, according to Franklin police.

Kinda reminds me of when our gun shop here in town was broken into - you know, the one that's within sight of our cop shop - a couple years ago when a gang from Franklin drove a car through the front window and stole a bunch of guns.

  1. Well that's 41 firearms that the Donks won't have to confiscate when they get their "registration" laws in place.

  3. Had a shop in my area, where the parking lot gave a good run up to the storefront. Perps stole a car, rammed it into the shop, and took a bunch of guns. They put in planters, posts..tried a few different things and it happened a couple more times until the owner parked an RV out front. They finally moved to a new location. Where another group smashed through a big window and grabbed a bunch more. Would hate to see their insurance rates...

  4. The guys I know who own or operate a gun shop always lock up all of the firearms in gun safes at the end of each day. Yes, it is a PITA that takes some time to do before you can leave for the day, and also extra time to place the guns in cases before you can open, but it eliminates thefts like this.

  5. Couple of years back, some mostly peaceful people backed a truck up to the front door of a Houston area gun shop, connected a chain to the front door and then pulled the entire door frame away from the wall. Then dozens of vibrant youths stormed in and took everything. All captured on security video. I think a lot of the guns were eventually recovered, but still.

  6. Back a bit, some idiots from Gainesville tried that at Beckwith's. Old Harry stepped out of his house with a submachine gun and peppered the stinking thieves.

    Harry Beckwith. A legend!

  8. Anyone know where the BATFE was when the theft occurred? They're known for stealing firearms from gun stores and handing them to drug cartels. Just sayin'.

  9. I wonder if the owner helped a few extra parts go missing for a rainy day...
