Funny. Just the other day I was talking about long haul drivers that looked like heart attacks waiting to happen. How did that guy ever pass his CDL physical?
Yes, a physical is required every other year. 10 years ago it was getting tougher and tougher to pass it. Now with the driver shortage and judging from the looks of that guy maybe it's getting easier and easier.
Reminds me of an old West Virginny story. They had a big assed trooper there in the seventies. He stopped a truck and got in an argument with the trucker. Trucker said get off the runnin board and I'll come out an kick yer ass. Trooper said, I aint standing on the runnin board.
CDL physical is every two years unless you have a underlying condition then it’s yearly and its never just been just a formality when I’ve gone in the past. And it’s not a joke anymore if you want to keep a hazmat endorsement either.
Ole Porky there is looking for a lot lizard.... And I guarantee that he would fail the standard physical required for a Commercial license. But for a little extra $$$ you can usually find a low rent doc who will sign off on your physical.

DeleteAssuming your question wasn't rhetorical why yes, yes there is, but it's just a formality.
