    to this day my oldest male won't go voluntarily into the truck like he used to. an overnight stay with the vet to save his life violated his trust I guess

      We had the opposite experience.

      Our Belgian Shepherd (best dog I ever had) LOVED going to the vet after an emergency visit to address a shredded paw.

      I suspect it was the pain killers they administered before changing the dressings. :)
