An unidentified Southwest Airlines pilot shared his politics with air traffic control at San Jose International Airport, according to SF Gate, which reports that the captain’s verbiage was caught on an open mic.
While it’s unclear what’s frustrating the airman, he doesn’t seem to be a fan of the Bay Area.
“F--k this place, g--damn liberal f--ks,” he was heard saying.

I’d enjoy flying with that pilot.
ReplyDeleteHeck. He was exiting the shit state. You'd think he'd be singing Hallelujah.
ReplyDeleteThe dreaded “stuck mike”.....has gotten many a pilot in trouble......
ReplyDeleteImagine if you will....hearing all the internal chatter between an airplane or tank crew.....
It would be like camping out at the water fountain or break room....all day.

Our helo (BK-117) had a toggle for the front seat crewman. 1 way was for intercom, the other way was for PA. We'd just landed for a ground school with a local fire department. The front-seater was standing by the cockpit, waiting for the rotors to wind down. He toggled his switch and made a rather disparaging remark......yep, he'd toggled the wrong way and broadcasted it out over the PA......the company changed the switch arrangement
ReplyDeleteI have a high school buddy that pilots for southwest. I could see this being him.
ReplyDeleteLeftists will be screaming bloody murder because the pilot dared to tell the truth about CA in general, and SF in particular. Southwest should NOT fire the pilot, no matter how much leftists squall about their hurt feelings.
ReplyDeleteBack in my Navy flying days, I had an aircraft commander that could not bring himself to check his microphone select settings before keying up. He was particularly bad when the choices were "VHF radio comms" and "PA". I lost track of times he told Bay Approach to "Set Condition Five for Landing" or tried to check in with ATC on PA.
DeleteHe was scary in other ways too.
Since when is the word "god" a no-no that needs to be dashed-out?
