He should have taken the back seat out. I took the seat out of my 1959 Ford a couple of months back and put in 24 8ft 2X4s in. I was able to close the trunk
I came close to hauling pictured loads in a '82 Datsoon 310 but cain't claim a cigar. Once knew a feller that easily matched loading 24-2x4's in his '58 Ford.
I had a 310 too. I remember being able to get a lot of stuff in that little car. Especially the GX version. Fold down the rear seats, Lay the passenger seat back and I could get 8 foot 2x4s into it.
I have not owned a car since the 80's. I've no use for one. On the few rare occasions I've gotten a car over the years I swear my ass is gonna scrap on the road. Also, I can't see a damn thing. To each his own but I like and use a truck.
I've seen worse . A moron took his brand Volkswagen Jetta Diesel to the hardware store and bought some bags of mortar and filled the trunk . Then he the proceeded to totally fill the car up to the windows , the only empty spot in the car was the drivers seat . I said " that must be an awfully good suspension under that Jetta ". " These cars are pretty tough and I'm only going 60 miles down the highway" . " Heading to Truro are you?" Yes he said . I so wanted to follow him but I didn't have the time to waste . I saw a buddy there who was going the same way and asked him to see how far he got . So we quickly set up a lottery that rapidly hit over $100.00 and the game was on . Later my buddy got to my shop with the info and photos of the Jetta on the side of the road broke in two at the 35 mile mark .That car was two days old and destroyed . What a chuckle we had .The winner of our lottery said we should only spend the money on beer and rum so we did . I'm sure we had a better laugh then that moron with the destroyed Jetta .

DeleteDude, it's called a roof rack. Get one. Heck, an old blanket and some straps will do the job. Or find a friend who has a pickup, minivan, or SUV.

ReplyDeleteRequired to secure a load like this/that/those. I lost count of the number of rat-shit straps.
