I see it at the grocery store, which checker will be there for a life time and which one will be heading for bigger and better things. Those I deliberately compliment and encourage.
#1 Back in the nineties I owned a company in Kirkland WA., lived in a nice area called Juanita Creek, The small creek flowed through my backyard. The creek flowed through the large grade school property where the little monsters were beating the hell out of the fish trying to spawn up stream. The State or the treehuggers never stepped up to protect the fish and they were notified. Funny how that info never made it into the media. Not allowed to talk bad about the democrats running the state or the teachers who didn't try to help the fish, it didn't fit the narrative of then or today. It was great to watch those fish trying to get upstream, amazing drive to reproduce.
