  2. #5, that looks like a rain that froze on the road. Happened to me once. What a helpless feeling

  3. Let's see....I've done numbers 1, 5, 7 and kinda 10. It's like those Farmers Insurance commercials, "We know a few things because we've seen a few things."

  4. #6: Although it looks horrible, the bite force of a toucan is about the same as the pressure you can exert by pressing two adjacent fingers together side-by-side (not a pinch, but like scissors). I had a toucan do exactly the same thing to me in Peru back in 1981. What hurts is when it slaps you in the face with the beak.

  5. #5 Welcome to an icy winter in Texas. If the temps are below freezing and it rains during the day, the ground temp keeps it from freezing until that night. The next morning there's a layer of ice on the roads that closely resembles a skating rink. The transplants from up north expect the roads to be plowed before sunrise, and the natives grab another cup of coffee and watch the transplants go slip sliding by.

    1. Yep. Outlandes who say "Texans can't drive in snow" get a big ol' honkin' surprise with their first Texas ice storm, too. Do the sliiiiide. No stopping until they hit something. Nobody can drive on ice.

  6. 2 -- For the safety of everybody walking on that road, the pedestrian dutifully wears a mask (aka 'face-mask').
