Gun control is a lost cause. Come despair with me.
Let’s start with the fact that there are enough guns in this country so that every man, woman and child could have one. Add to that a couple of Supreme Court decisions that enshrine gun ownership alongside freedom of speech and freedom of assembly as constitutionally hallowed rights. On top of that is the fact that even such modest efforts at the state level to limiting access to guns to people deemed dangerous to themselves have proved ineffective. No better example of this is the fact that the Indiana "red flag" law designed to keep guns out of the hands of mentally unstable people only temporarily delayed the killer of eight people in Indianapolis from getting his hands on the weapon used to take their lives. Gun control advocacy stands high in the ranks of lost causes and futile campaigns alongside legitimating polygamy and scrapping the national anthem for something more singable.

ReplyDeleteThis article is PROPAGANDA designed to distract people from the moves the Usurper's administration is making to ban firearms and/or limit mag capacity and introduce new taxes on ammo, among other things.
Make no mistake, the Demonrats are not giving up, ever, until they've succeeded in either removing the Second Amendment from Constitution or limiting it so successfully that it's not practicable as a right. 'Course, in the end, only criminals will have firearms because they're so law abiding to begin with.

Nemo, you do realize the some of us law abiding citizens will be made criminals, even felons, based on some of the punitive laws and decisions that the BATFE's are planning, right? Of course, I didn't mean to imply you or me, since we would never tell the Government to fuck off. But those others who call themselves Patriots, they would do so. And while I probably should not reveal it, the name of the street I live on is, Patriot lane. No kidding, I have lived here for 25 years, and that has been the name from the beginning.
DeleteThese guys kill me...just because they don't like what the laws and history says, they blame the Supreme Court and claim that that elite body is incapable of interpreting law correctly as they themselves are the ones with a revisionist view of history.
ReplyDeleteShoot, I already saw people going off the deep end when the SCOTUS said they'd take up the New York Concealed Carry case...If they've already decided the outcome, is it that they're KNOWINGLY creating illegal laws?
They are capable but that is different than willing.

They do so knowing it takes standing to challenge most of them (unless you are the Democratic Party, esp in WA) and also know that most law abiding folks are not going to risk losing rights to get the law overturned. And the fact they say it was ran through the legislative legal review process is another example of how corrupt they are!

DeleteThe last "official" number I heard was that there are approx. 400 million guns in America. To which I say HA! That count doesn't include ghost guns, smuggled guns, private sale guns that were NEVER part of any database, homemade jobs, and other categories. I'm guessing there are probably more like 600 to 800 million guns in America, along with a trillion (or two) rounds of ammo in storage. The logistics it would take to disarm America would require every soldier, sailor, Marine, cop, customs agent, TSA agent, Boy Scout, Girl Scout, Salvation Army "soldiers," BLM, Antifa, and more to even make a dent in the numbers.... and of course they would all face being fired upon, so who would really step up to THAT plate? They all have lives and families that they cherish, so....

DeleteThe 2nd is very clear: "shall not be infringed" doesn't mean "but in some cases" it means exactly what it says. And if the Hoosiers had "Constitutional Carry" you can bet that Fed-X shooter would have been met with a hail of lead protection from those good Americans working there.
ReplyDeleteOur push-back against these efforts to take away guns is exactly this....criminals don't give two shits about gun laws and when seconds count the cops are minutes away. The solution is to make "Constitutional Carry" the law in all 50 states.

ReplyDeleteThe number of guns and number of gun owners are irrelevant statistics. The number of gun owners who will actively stand is the only thing that matters. And that group hasn't been very active, and is busy aging out. The younger generations largely hate guns, and the future belongs to those who show up for it.
