They are only slapping you in the face with a feces soaked rag, because you let them.

The first lesson of my young life, about five or six years old, was that people, including brothers, will do to you whatever you allow them to do. Some are bound by a sense of decency, like a brother might be, but below that line, all's fair.

When I stood up for myself, even if he still pinned me and threatened to put bugs in my mouth until I relented, it became harder and harder for him to do so without a welt, bruise or his blood on himself. This was NOT an abusive relationship, it was an important teaching relationship. My brother was neither cruel, nor evil, he was just an older brother and when we occasionally had a conflict over something, it would come down to whoever was stronger, or, in some cases had more leverage. It made me stronger, tougher and when we got into conflicts with neighbor kids, we were a stronger and tougher team to contend with, because of it.

  1. Learning to stand up for himself was a boy's way of becoming a man, today single mothers, who have practically cut the balls off of anything manly, have turned their sons into whiny bitches. Manhood was a passage to adulthood and accepting responsibility for yourself and those that depended on him, no more boys are weaker than girls and totally sissified.

    2. At the same time, things have escalated from using your fists to acquire some peace from being harassed by bullies assholes, to risking being shot to death on the playground by some pissant armed with a stolen handgun says you 'dissed' him.
Kinda the situation I see with .gov vs WTP.
      Yay diversity.

    3. One of the young gals in the extended family is married to a Momma's Boy; I have been shaking my head so often and so hard I think I need some kind of reconstructive surgery to return to normal.

  4. Those are the sentiments expressed by Carl von Clauzwitz in his book On War, except he was referencing nations not siblings. War is an extension of diplomacy, and a strong military enforces a country’ diplomatic clout.
