Man accused of punching dog repeatedly at New York pet washing facility is arrested

FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WROC) — Humane Society officials announced that officers have arrested a man allegedly caught on video punching a dog repeatedly in the washroom of a Rochester, New York store.

Officials say 54-year-old Michael Myer of Rochester was arrested Tuesday. Myer was allegedly caught on surveillance video abusing a German shepherd inside the self-service pet bathing area of a Henrietta Country Max store.

  1. This is stupid. As much as I love dogs and pets in general, it's wrong to deprive a human being of his liberty over an animal. The police shoot dogs all the time and they never so much as pay a fine. More selective outrage and more selective prosecution means less freedom and liberty.

    2. Fuck You Anon. Some dogs are so stupid they can't learn. I have one. For five years she cannot learn that I will not allow her to jump on me and claw my arms up. She gets punched often and still doesn't learn. Dogs are animals, not humans. Some are smart enough to learn how to behave and others never will, and they must be handled with force.

    3. Did you ever stop to think that maybe you're the problem by smacking the dog around? People like you that have no understanding of animals don't deserve to have dogs.
      Fucking idiot.

  2. Bullshit.
A person that mistreats an animal is a psychopath that needs euthanasia themselves.
Taking your frustrations out on a creature you control is nothing but cowardly, & we sure have enough of those.

  5. Considering that we have exactly zero facts, just narrative, maybe we should withhold judgement. It may be the guy is a turd, or it might be that he was attempting to clean the dog, got bit, and acted to get the dog back under control.
Facts would be nice to have if you're not an Ohio guy.

    1. Man, there's nothing like a fucking coward troll that talks shit on the internet while hiding behind an anonymous tag.
If you haven't figured out by now that there's a difference between a companion animal and a meat animal, that makes you a fucking idiot as well.

  8. If I lose patience with an animal or a human, I am responsible to regain my center.
If I am frustrated with a situation, I am responsible to regain my perspective.

I participated in Dog Handler school at the air-cop academy at Fort Sam in the early 1970s.
Everybody treated our canines with respect... and often, a sense of awe and wonderment.
The word 'gratitude' describes my partnership with dogs.

    Please, do not hurt animals.
