That is most likely a MK-88 1000 pound practice bomb. They are made of sheet metal and filled with sand or concrete to simulate the weight and size of their HE counterparts. That one is most likely empty or that little trailer would be in trouble. Dude should check and make sure it doesn’t have the signal cartridge in it. They are powerful enough to blow a hand off or make you dead under perfect circumstances, like going off right next to your head.
I want one. It would look good with the US Navy MK 15 100 lb. practice bomb I have in my living room. Everyone sitting on my sofa could put their feet up on it.
I don't know enough to identify, but my first thought was "drop tank?" so something else inert. These days, though, with antifa-blm and the like, my first act would be to whip a u-turn and head the other way, quick. It looks too much like a surplus bomb for my comfort. -Just A Chemist.
