So that roof rack is just for decoration then?

  1. Roof racks on most SUV's are pretty much useless, unless you pay extra for a real one. They're only rated for a max load of maybe 75 pounds and most of the standard ones don't even have cross members.

  3. No no, that’s an empty box and it’s covering up a broken passenger-side window....

  4. I thought it was the box the car came in and after assembly he was taking it to the dump.

  5. Those big TVs usually have a warning on the box against laying them flat. Best Buy advises this about transporting a TV:
"(Both) larger LCD and LED TVs are constructed to have their weight balanced when set upright. So if you lay the screen flat, there won’t be adequate support in the middle, which can lead to cracking or distortion on the edges if left that way over time. Add in the vibrations while driving a car, and the chance of cracking or distortion only increases."

Not saying strapping it to the side of a car is any better, but there are reasons not to strap it to the roof of your car.

    1. Well, I'll be damned - I learn something new every day.

  6. Some of those LCD screens are so thin they warn you not to lay the box flat - it puts too much pressure on the screen. One good bump and the box will be the most valuable part left.

  7. Pretty stupid, considering it would fit in the back with just a little of it hanging out.
