Wondering how he's going to dig out of this hole, even if he divorces her. Having gone through that, and paying off $70K in someone else's credit card debt (even though they were working full time)...I understand his pain. Divorce is the best option, since the spending will never end. (the ex's current husband is going through the exact same thing now...LOL)
I thought that it was a joke, that she had piled a load of empty boxes outside the door to make him think that she'd bought a load of stuff. Otherwise, serious and drastic action is certainly needed.
My last one had a SERIOUS shopping problem. Even working in the patch didn't guarantee enough money. Came home one evening and hadn't been in the basement for a month and found dozens of unopened boxes of online stuff. Found out most of the items were on a monthly subscription that couldn't be canceled for a year - about $1500 per month of nothing. She didn't even know how much she had purchased! Now I am single, make 1/3 of what I used to and have cash in the bank.
I paid child support for 17.5 years. I calculated it awhile ago, and it was somewhere in the area of 137,000$. Given compound interest, I figure it has to be close to a million dollars that I could have had. The screwing you get for the screwing you got.
Doesn't matter that she 'saved up' those boxes...EACH box represents something she bought online and had delivered. So whether they all came the same day or over the course of weeks that poor schmuck STILL as to pay the bill for them. He needs to bite the bullet and divorce her. Yes...it will cost him a lot of $. But if he doesn't it's going to cost him ten times as much over the next couple of decades.
Ya shoulda used a stronger condom, son.

ReplyDeleteShe's playing with fire. What if he murdered her before she could get him to realize it's just a joke?
ReplyDeleteI bet the gender reveal party will blow up the whole block.
Plot twist: gender-reveal party also turns out to be an unexpected race-reveal party.

ReplyDeleteNice guys get taken advantage of. Why can't there be a fool proof system: nice couples? Instead of getting peed on.
ReplyDeleteYessir! No joke...
ReplyDeleteMy first wife had 55 pairs of shoes, that I paid for, when we got divorced.
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm not signing this.

That's not even funny! And it don't matter which side of the spousal-unit you are on.
