Klaus, "axe" reminds me of an incident 20 or so years ago. I was removing a stump from my front yard and had various tools scattered about. A little black girl from down the street was watching me work and asked what the names of the various tools were. When I pointed to one and told her that's an axe, she replied "oh, an ASK". Her mom was an attorney from England and her dad taught music, and their kids werent going to be talking ghetto
#1L be nice, English is not my native language and I learned The Queen's English as a teenager. After almost 40 years in the US I know better now. (Yes, my first trip to the US I asked for a glass and the bar tender had no clue as to what I was asking for) 😂
#2 I cross the state line into Delaware for Total Wine store. Fucking PA has the most bassackward system for liquor and beer, it's pathetic. Every time I go, I buy at least $350 worth of alcohol, and pretty much everyone there is pushing a cart, maybe 2.
All liquor stores in PA are state-run, so ALL profits from sale of liquor go to the state, not just taxes. One of the things I had to get used to moving here from NJ two years ago, although the local volunteer ambulance squad having a gun-raffle as a fund raiser made up for it. Couldn't imagine THAT in NJ.
Profits? Most likely the government is losing money running liquor stores, even with no competition.
The IRS once took over a legal bordello in Nevada. They lost money running it. As effed-up as they are, everything I hear about PA tells me every government agency in the state is worse.
#20. I was seated for an upcoming drunk driving trial of a young woman in a liberal college town. Before the trial began, I checked out the woman’s Facebook profile. As soon as I saw her with her arm around a cardboard cutout of Obummer, I had to call the judge and had myself excused. No way she wasn’t guilty.
