Where bad choices make good stories
2 - SO you're now persona non grata in the UK?
There's an Englishman here in town I'm avoiding too.
Bill Clinton's on the way over to console Liz right now. Come on, why not she's got more money and more sex appeal than Hillary.
A prolapsed cow has more sex appeal than Hillary does.
#5: someone hasn’t been pricing lumber recently.WTF is with the prices?
I've got so many memes in my folder it's not funny and I'm running them in the order I posted them in FB. That one's from the days of the $600 stimulus - which I never got.I do bump a couple of them up just for grins, such as #2 today.
I was talking to a guy in the lumber industry. Seems like two reasons: one is that the chinese made a huge order for lumber, shipped it to China, didn't store it right, and it all rotted. They then repeated the order. The other reason is that the European Union, in their infinite wisdom, decided burning wood for heat is considered green. So the EU imports lots of North American wood.
Haven't you heard that trees get COVID-19?One would think that you could get lumber from trees killed by COVID-19. However, that does not appear to be the case. Pressure treating diseased wood leads to permanently infectious lumber. Living in a house built from infected lumber means you have to keep your mask on all the time, indoors, alone. So there is a real price premium for certified COVID free lumber.Trust me.... Would I lie?... ... I am a WaPo reporter!
When the dempanic began, a lot of people opted for the layoff with bonus vs working. The lumber industry was hard hit. They needed to increase wages to get people back. Not every one returned. Shortage equals price increases.
"The other reason is that the European Union, in their infinite wisdom, decided burning wood for heat is considered green."It's not just the EU, in the UK they are putting wood chips imported from the US into one of our power stations. Absolute insanity, saving the planet by burning down forests instead of using coal.
In addition to the other answers, the Fed is printing enough trillions to drive inflation up across the entire economy. However, not all products are equally sensitive to short term changes in price. Like many commodities, lumber has always tracked the market spot price relatively closely. However, the more processed the commodity, the less closely it tracks price changes. That's why finished wooden products haven't risen quite as fast as lumber.
#3 I’d still do Loni
How come Loni Anderson hasn't aged? Still hotter than hell.
Same reasons bottles in a landfill don't age, plastic, plastic and plastic.
So I don't have a clue what. AARP means.
It's an association for retirees. Very left wing. I forget what AARP stands for, maybe Association for American Retired Persons or some such shit.
Assholes Are Really Progressive.
You win the internet today!
AARP? Think there is a P missing.
Only to those that know their history.MadMarlin
Is the woman next to Lonnie in #3 really Jan Smithers?
Yup. I just googled her and she's 71 years old, believe it or not.
