Every few years we see wolves in Yellowstone NP, usually at a distance and generally with a spotting scope. However, once we were hiking and a couple of wolves cut our trail. It was obvious that they didn't even consider us a minor annoyance as they loped by maybe 35 yards away. (Watching a pair in a snow storm waiting for a grizzly to get off a carcass was an interesting afternoon too.)
I had a female husky that weighed 56 pounds full grown. I now have a full grown male German Shepherd that weighs 121 pounds - over twice the size of the husky.

ReplyDeleteI've seen full-grown huskies a lot bigger than that.
ReplyDelete#1 not a full grown Husky
ReplyDelete#2 Northern BC Canadian Grey Wolves are even bigger than that ! They have huge heads. Absolute killing machines and I hate them.

ReplyDeleteHard to wait for when I get chainlink up around part of the farm and can bring a mid content wolf home. ;)
