Damn. Just damn.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — After 65 years of marriage, a Joelton couple is now spending eternity together.

Charley Ray and Martha Jean Harris both ended up in the hospital for different reasons and just minutes apart, they both peacefully passed away while holding hands.

  1. Ya broke me Kenny. I bawled like a little girl after reading the story. People built like that don't seem to exist anymore.

I wish my sweetheart was still here. What would have been our 35th anniversary was last week. And every year it's like getting a new papercut to the the heart on schedule.

  2. There remains much noble about marriage even in these self absorbed days. Perhaps this really lives out the ceremonial wedding saying, "What God has joined etc..."

  3. When you've been together that long and the relationship hasn't soured, I can easily see not wanting to outlive the person who has become your other half.

    1. It doesn't take 65 years if you both found the right one in each other. My wife and I were married 31 years when my she passed and I wish every day that she was still here. I look forward to the day we're together again.

  4. When I was 16 there was a couple like that at the convalescent hospital where I worked, only they wouldn't let them be in the same room. I pitched fits about it... that they should have a room together, but some shit about only same sex sharing a room. Notwithstanding this inhumanity, they died within minutes of each other anyway.

Looking back now, I still envy them their gorgeous demise. RIP all loving couples.
