I ain't that hungry - yet

NEW YORK — Cicadas are poised to infest some American backyards this summer. Maybe it's time they invaded your kitchen.

Swarms of the red-eyed bugs that are reemerging after 17 years below ground offer a chance for home cooks to turn the tables and make them into snacks.

  1. The only thing better than my beef is someone else's beef. And living in rural Oklahoma "Beef,it's what's for dinner " Maybe the vegans will eat better too.

  2. Dumbasses!
The lightening bugs and cicadas are night-time outdoor entertainment; not Barbeque fodder.

  3. Why, when I see articles like this, do I think we're being set up for a real SHTF moment? On the other hand, if it comes down to starving or eating bugs, bugs better look out! Eod1sg Ret

  4. In 2030 you will own nothing, rent everything you need, eat cicadas, and be happy.

"You" meaning you subhumans that is. We actual human beings will continue to jet to Davos, eat (suitable) beef, and do whatever it is we do to children.

Our pals at Craft Crickets offer cooking classes.
    They are delicious!
Crickets eat waste cardboard in a dark cool room... and produce pounds of protein, fat, minerals, fiber.
    .
In year-round warm climates such as Hawaii, aquatic snail ranches are in many backyards.
    Again... delicious!
