Are the leaders of the National Rifle Association abusing the legal system to duck accountability for their mismanagement? Or are they making a legitimate move to reorganize in the face of an attack from politicians bent on dismantling the powerful gun-rights group?

A federal judge in Dallas was left to weigh those competing narratives following closing arguments Monday in the NRA's bankruptcy trial. Judge Harlin Hale said he expects to issue a written ruling early next week in the case over whether the NRA can move its incorporation from New York to Texas.

  3. There is a discernable hostility toward conservative groups by NY District Attornies/Tax agencies and/or the rich who want to move away from that city

    1. Did you ever hear Rush Limbaugh talk about what New York did to him after he moved to Florida? Such as auditing him every year, even 10 years after he had left?
They also wanted documentation proving when he wasn't in the state. If he was in New York one day a year he was taxed on a pro-rated basis for every day he was there. That's why he never went back after a while. He didn't want to give them the satisfaction of screwing him out of one dime.

  4. I support the NRA, with it's nearly 5 million members. I do not support the leadership of the NRA, and do not give them any money, until they turn things around and get rid of WLP and the top leadership, change the number of members of the board to a more normal and reasonable amount that is responsible for the operation of the group, and become more responsive to it's members. They are spending millions now fighting lawsuits when instead they should be fighting the Biden adm. against the inconceivable 2nd amendment threats.

    1. One reason that state and federal .gov's going after is to tie them up in court and deplete the org's coffers to deny them the ability to fight FOR 2A rights, not that NRA has done such a stellar job of that over the years.

AS for me, I wouldn't piss on the NRA if it was on fire. Their method of negotiation is capitulation. Sounds like another national organization we all know.

  5. I’m a life member. The management are nothing more or less than DC insider lobbyists. It’s all about power and money. They don’t give a shit about the Constitution or America. If they can make money and consolidate power by selling us out like they did in 94, they will. I have been throwing away all their shit for years now. Hate it for the members, but the “board” is as crooked as any other DC swamp creature. Eod1sg Ret

    1. Indeed, they all seem to be enshrined and are now Swamp Creatures and living life in the Twilight Zone AKA Washington DC? I don't think they intended it to be this way? Alas, they have been polluted by the snakes that surround them?

  6. The NRA long ago was subverted and suborned by petty greedy assclowns who had on!y one agenda....personal enrichment. And among the most egrigious of the bunch is LaPierre. They no longer care about us or our rights....only what they can bet for themselves.

  10. The NRA has done nothing to stop the government from whittling at our 2nd, just as the Conservatives have conserved nothing. Sad to say, but if you want something done you must do it yourself. Really that has never changed. We have just gotten soft. Hell look at my mid section.

  11. I became a Life Member something like 30 years ago, I believed in the organization then. A few years later my eyes opened to the scams and inflated lifestyles of the leadership and my support stopped, I would get solicitors in the mail, never gave them my phone number, and I would mark them return to sender and let them pay for return postage. I haven't heard anything from then in over 20 years. Fuck em.
