ANYBODY WANT A FREE DOG?

NEW YORK — Firefighters trying to do a good deed accidentally returned a lost dog to the wrong owner.

Rocky, a 5-month-old mini Australian shepherd, ran away Monday, WNBC reported.

A good Samaritan took the dog to New York Fire Department fire house engine 227. Firefighters shared video of the dog on social media in an attempt to find the owner.

Natasha Gaynor went to the station with the dog’s license and other paperwork to show proof of ownership. However, Rocky was already gone.
