Two trailer loads of small-caliber ammunition bound for the United States were stolen by armed assailants on a highway in Mexico’s most violent state, Guanajuato, the manufacturer said Friday.
A company representative said about 98.5% of the millions of rounds of ammo stolen earlier this week were .22 caliber, which is seldom used by Mexican drug cartels.
OK, 1.5% of 2 million ("...millions of rounds...") was NOT .22 ammo so there's a minimum of 30,000 rounds of something else out there too.
ReplyDeleteThey might want to put an ad in the local paper selling .22 carbines for cheap. Chances are good the guys that show up clamoring for those guns are your truck thieves or they know where to find them.
we can only hope. The ATF is probably chompin' at the bit to take this smuggling ring down. Best bet for the cartel would be to put it in storage for a couple years until the ATF is distracted by something else, like 80% lowers or ghost guns or some such BS, then release it in dribs and drabs.

No fucking way!? Are you sure this happened in Mexico?
ReplyDeleteUnable to verify but I read the haul was over seven million rounds total.
ReplyDeleteWell, that should last Chicago until about 9pm on Juneteenth.
DeleteIt's the corrupt us government
ReplyDeleteAt this point, it is probably more profitable for them to sell a dime bag of Long Rifle, than weed.

ReplyDeleteI noticed the ammo in the picture is a Remington product but the stolen ammo is Aguila.
ReplyDeleteGermalisium at its best!
Technically Aguila is a subsidiary of Remington ammunition, most of their machines are from Remington.
