In Mexico, cartels are hunting down police at their homes

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The notoriously violent Jalisco cartel has responded to Mexico’s “hugs, not bullets” policy with a policy of its own: The cartel kidnapped several members of an elite police force in the state of Guanajuato, tortured them to obtain names and addresses of fellow officers and is now hunting down and killing police at their homes, on their days off, in front of their families.

  1. When you live in a jungle you better figure out quick: "It's kill or be killed". The cops need to go out and summarally execute everyone they know or even suspect is part of the Drug gangs. That includes daddy dealer, momma the kids and grandparents. Coexisting ain't a viable option.

  4. Thety're only killing the ones that won't take their bribes. In fact, the police commanders are probably fingering the non-compliers for the cartel's hit squads.

    Prove me wrong.

    1. I disagree. If you ask me if I think police should be held to a higher standard that the rest of the populace, I'll heartily agree. However, as soon as people, the bad ones, realize that they outnumber the police and don't have to follow any rules at all, it'll all be over except for the deaths, and they'll be indiscriminate.

    3. Or, hell, he can move to some inner city where they've defunded the police and enjoy life there.

  7. Cartels are really big on sending messages. The more bloody & brutal, the more effective.
Someone or several someone's got too greedy, too careless, or too talkative.
This is a literal 'final' warning.
