"Sorry 'bout that"

DENVER (AP) — Johnny Hurley was hailed by police as a hero for shooting and killing a gunman they say had killed one officer and expressed hatred for police in a Denver suburb. But when another officer rushed in to respond and saw Hurley holding the suspect’s AR-15, he shot Hurley, killing him, police revealed Friday.

  1. Hurley holding the suspects AR-15 doesn't pass the smell test. Let's see, officers en ass rushing to a policeman down situation. "Lemme grab this AR-15 and make myself look like the shooter." Very stupid if true.

    1. Yes, stupid on the shoot first, ask questions later cops. The citizen did nothing wrong. The coward cop who shot him should die in prison.

  2. Think Hurley's family will get the same 24 million dollar "sorry 'bout that" payout that Floyd's family got?

    2. No rioting. So definitely not black.

  3. Another fuquing "accident". No, it was a hyped-up pig shooting the first person he came across carrying a weapon. Hat tip, guys: don't ever help the cops, either by protecting them, talking to them, or supporting them in any way. To them, you, as a 'civilian', are the enemy.

    1. Yeah, this one here.
I gave my Son "the talk".
Don't ever say shit to a cop. He gets paid to write tickets and arrest you. He WILL find something to fuck with you.

My rule is don't ever call them.

  4. Sad ending.

In defense of the officer, he came into a tense situation, and saw a man with a gun.

Hurley would have been well advised to drop the weapon and move some distance away before the officer arrived. Very sad...

    1. Yep, the only contact he should have had with the shooters weapons is to make certain nobody touched them. Why get his own prints on it?

A terrible accident precipitated by the poor choice he made. I don't give cops a lot of slack for anything, but this truly was an avoidable accident not their bad actions.

Aren't they trained for this? Aren't they granted special rights, immunities and protections because they are better than the rest of us at these "first responder" situations?

I can't imagine that a rotating militia watch duty could have done any worse, rather than this standing army concept which sees the entire populace as the enemy.

    3. The cop shot an innocent man because he did not check that his target was a threat. The only "mistake" here was by the cop.

    4. Chris Hurley made the mistake of picking up the perp weapon he should have left it on the ground and the cop should have given warning to drop said weapon, only one will live to regret that decision!!!grayman

  5. The only phrase more irritating that 'giving back to the community' is 'sorry 'bout that'.

  6. I bet that the reporter finally got one right when he said, “the police OPENED FIRE”. Orks got ot love um. Avoid the lawman/police/orks nothing good comes from interacting with them, EVER. And another thing, mind your own damn business. Hes this Hurly guy now dead cause he stuck his nose into business that was not his. Besides the killer was killing cops/orks, win-win.

“In a separate statement, the Arvada Police Department said: “Finally, it is clear that the suspect bears responsibility for this tragic sequence of events.” I call bullshit the killer was dead, its the stupid cops/orks that killed the good guy again.

“The unnamed officer’s shooting of Hurley is being investigated by a team of other area law enforcement officers led by the district attorney’s office. The district attorney will use the findings to decide whether the officer was justified in using deadly force or whether the officer should be charged with a crime”. Now this will get some RESULTS, what a laugh, cops/orks investigating themselves, hahahahahah almost as good as congress rats investigating.

Cops/orks you fucked up again, own it!!!!

  8. US LEO considers the peasantry to be enemy combatants. There's no real cost to come in with guns blazing unless they shoot a black person. Anything bad will be payed for with other people's money.

  9. Democrats telling the nation's psychotics that they have to hate the police is starting to pay off for MaligNancy. I can imagine she is very proud of herself.

RIP for the two heroes killed last week, officer Gordon Beesley and citizen Johnny Hurley.

  10. No mention of whether Hurley had pointed the gun at the officer or whether the officer had issued any commands. It gives the impression that the officer just smoked the guy with the AR.

    1. Looks a lot like that to me, too. Officer Friendly responds to an officer down call and gets there and shoots the first person he sees with a gun and not in uniform. Nope, unless it is me or mine I'll stay out of it.

  12. Everybody should calm down a bit. The press lies. They lie with malice aforethought, and they lie even when the truth is a better story. If they don't know the answer, they will make shit up. And this story comes from the AP who are real "professionals" at it. Give it more time for the actual facts to come out.

  13. Well , the SCOTUS ruled the cops have NO DUTY to protect , or assist the citizens ,so , I guess we the people then have NO RESPONCIBILITY to help out the jackbooted ones . Easy peasy really , whats good for the goose and all that shit . One less cop = one less expensive pension payout .
