All that over a few war trophies?

Lawyers in Germany are wrangling over how to deal with a pensioner who stored a World War Two tank, anti-aircraft gun and torpedo in his basement.

The items were removed from a house in the northern town of Heikendorf in 2015 with the help of the army.

  1. Sounds like he was ready for an invasion by land, sea or air.

  2. Pinocchio Joe may need this to help keep his deplorables under control.

  3. I've heard the old joke about building a boat in the basement and not being able to get it out, but how did he get the tank into the basement?

  4. Man, that's a big f*ing basement. I want a big f*ing basement like that... with a tank...and anti-aircraft guns.. and a torpedo. I might have a use for those soon.

  5. That must have been one hellofa big cellar. If I recall correctly from Great Lakes Training Center, where there were two, one on each side, MK48's flanking the entrance way to the chow hall, those babies were 25 feet long.

OK I had to look it up. They're 19 feet.

    1. Only 19? I'll be damned. So they are. The German G7a torpedoes were 7.163 meters or about 23.5' long. I guess torpedo fuels have come long ways since WWII.

  7. I visited the National Museum of Military Vehicles last week in Dubois, Wyoming. They could use another Panther tank. I recall two. Early and late war.

  9. As a retired lawyer I can assure you that lawyers are a fucking plague on the planet. Worst thing I ever did was becoming one and best thing I ever did was hitting 50 and getting the fuck out.

    Assholes first, last and always.

The old guy never hurt a fucking fly. The lawyers are ignoring the intent of the law and fucking him over with its words. I hope he fires up that tank and demolishes the local courthouse, then pleads temporary insanity brought on by the stinking smell of asshole coming from all the lawyers pestering him.

    1. Agreed.

The guy had this stuff for years, and as you say, "never hurt a fucking fly." Now they have to make a big deal about taking his property.

Germany. Coming to a country near you!

    2. “Germany. Coming to a country near you!”

Yep. Already here. The exact same self-righteous pricks who did Germany are doing the US. Only this is a bigger country with more BFYTW and other traditions of general bad attitude, so we’re about a generation behind.

  10. I remember reading how he use to plow snow in the town with the tank. It was no secret that he had it.

  11. When I was in Germany in the late 1970's we always heard stories about secret caches of WWII weapons just waiting to be discovered. But not in private hands. I will take the 88mm and the panther.
