A Wyoming rancher who was pinned by an all-terrain vehicle survived on nothing but beer and bottled water for two days until he was rescued by a search party.
Frank Reynolds, 53, was trying to round up a cow and calf on a neighbor's pasture outside Gillette when the vehicle tipped over on him Sunday, Reynolds told the Gillette News Record.
Lucky he had the water on board in this case. I see a lot of local hikers who carry NO WATER whatsoever to save weight and effort. Even in Texas summertime temps - that is just plain asking to get yourself in a fix.
Alcohol will help dehydrate a person - did not help himself there. Glad things turned out okay.
Two days is survivable without anything but air.
ReplyDeleteKeystone Light? That ain't beer.

Beer is mostly water and will hydrate more than dehydrate.

When the only 2 liquids you have to survive in a situation like this are Urine and Bud lite, it's a toss-up!
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a lump on his noggin'.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Frank's alright. He sounds like a good guy.
Well, if Frank plans on rounding up any more lost cattle I'll volunteer to survive with him.
