I never saw my granny other than pleasant and sweet. We lived a block away until I was 7, and the entire neighborhood of kids knew her as granny. She always had home baked cookies for the kids on the block. I helped her can produce (I still can to this day) and spent a lot of time at her house when young. When she died, my Uncle Dick failed to organize the pall bearers because of the grief he felt. I got my male cousins together and we carried her to the grave. Since that, I have actively participated in the funerals of loved ones because it marks the finality of that moment in time.
I love how the cameraman is laughing. According to my dad, my great grandmother was feared by the cops and everybody else in our small town, she did time in prison as a bootlegger. The rumor was that she murdered her husband by pushing him down the basement stairs while he was carrying a coal oil lamp. Dad used to laugh about how the cops would be chasing him and they would come to a screeching halt at the front gate when she was standing by it. My great grandmother could kick this lady's ass.
I'll bet she can also cuss you out without taking the Marlboro out of her mouth.
ReplyDeleteI have wine bottle opener just like that one. That's not how it's used and if you're to stupid to figure it out you shouldn't be drinking.

It probably worked great on the first 2 bottles!
