Rite Aid worker fatally shot outside Glassell Park store after confronting shoplifters

A Rite Aid employee was shot and killed when he tried to stop shoplifters at the Glassell Park store Thursday.

Around 8:50 p.m., two men attempted to leave the store, located at 4044 Eagle Rock Blvd., with unpaid merchandise, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

An employee attempted to stop the two individuals and was fatally shot by one of them, police said. The suspects remained at large Friday night.

The victim's union is quick to blame Rite-Aid for not providing adequate security but doesn't say a fucking thing about the State damned near encouraging shoplifting with its relaxed penalties.

  4. From what I've read retail stores who've had security guards have been sued whenever the guards intervened to stop criminals and someone was injured.

  6. Is it still simple shoplifting if the choirboy is armed? Doesn’t that make it armed robbery?
