Your Thursday Morning Florida Report

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A judge sentenced Florida man Ronnie Oneal III to three life terms plus 60 years in prison to run consecutively for the murder of his girlfriend and their disabled daughter, and the attempted murder of his son.

Oneal gained national attention for his antics in court as he insisted on representing himself during his murder trial.

  1. Three life terms +60 years? Surely this is a capital crime warranting the death penalty to be immediately executed. I' betting he doesn't last 6 months in prison. Inmates don't like child molesters or child killers. 'Course between when he's locked up and when his fellow inmates decide it's time, Bubba's gonna have fun with this one.

  2. The benefit of not giving him the death penalty here in Florida is there are a bunch of pro bono groups that will take up his appeals when he is sentenced to death. Without it, he is mainly on his own, and we saw how well that worked for him.

    1. He's probably going to appeal, based on incompetent counsel.

But like Nemo said, either he'll be dead in six months or in solitary from now on.

  3. Sentenced to three life terms to be served consecutively, meaning he will spend the rest of his life in prison with no chance of parole.

Bull shit. That means the taxpayers will support this POS for decades.

Taken out of prison and executed a few days/weeks after conviction also means he served a "life sentence". (incarcerated until the day of his death)
