Your Wednesday Morning Florida Report

CLEARWATER, Fla. – A Florida man crashed a stolen car through an airport fence and got into a Coast Guard airplane’s cockpit before he was arrested, investigators said Saturday.
The suspect was identified by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office as 36-year-old Herrera Hamilton Moreno, who was jailed Saturday with bond set at $24,150. Jail records did not list an attorney for Moreno.

  1. All Caterpillar construction equipment uses the same "Cat" key, I have a copy from my time in the trades (you can buy them online).
I've often contemplated stealing an excavator, or bulldozer, for grins. Taking a joyride in a fighter jet takes tge cake, though.

    * First, you start the APU (aux power unit) to heat the four engines
Ten or twenty minutes later, after the APU reaches op temp, then
    * Second, go over a check-list the size of Nebraska by both pilots and the engineer with the load-master watching/listening as part of the flight-crew, then
    * Third, someday, somebody suggests "Ready to ignite?", then the ground-crew un-boards...

I think our Mister Moreno was optimistic about his escape plans.
