Could Mask Mandates Drive Business To Surrounding Counties Who Don’t Have One?

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Weeks after California ditched masks, they’ve made a comeback in two Sacramento-area counties. But with the mask-wearing whiplash, some say they won’t put them back on and it could put some businesses in a financial bind.

In Sacramento and Yolo counties, many businesses are worried that enforcing the mandate may drive much-needed customers away. Other businesses have been told they’re being sought out because they are enforcing the rules.

Maybe not in California, but it damned sure will in other States.
I know our stores were considerably busier when Sumner County had a mask mandate but Macon County didn't. I was even seeing more cars from Davidson County in our parking lots which meant people were traveling from Nashville, 40-50 miles away, to shop here.

  1. You wear a mask to cover your eyes. You wear a gag to cover your mouth.

  2. I live in a NorCal county that is very conservative. The Mask Mandate was not enforced here. Out county borders Sacramento county to the south. Our Gyms and Restaurants were packed with people from Sacramento, and surrounding counties. And it's happening again. Last time around they were playing radio commercials encouraging Sac County residents to shop in their county.

  3. Speaking of mask mandates. I hear the CDC is going to mandate you wear a mask while using a computer to shop on the Amazon website.

  4. Do people who live in dry counties go buy booze in a wet one?

  5. Here in Wisconsin (land of cheese) they had a mask mandate in dane county . I live a couple miles outside the county of dane and although it is a whole lot closer for me to drive to madison to hit the store I will drive an extra thirty miles and go to Portage (where the north begins) and not have to wear a mask , and as a bonus I save the extra sales tax charged in the liberal haven that is dane county . fuck them vote with your feet people!
