"I'm tellin' you, I'm not fucking crazy"

HONOLULU (NEXSTAR) — The Hawaii Innocence Project says officials wrongfully arrested a homeless man for a crime committed by another person, locked him up in a state hospital for more than two years, forced him to take powerful medication and then tried to cover up the mistake by quietly setting him free.

    1. True that, and you're one of the few who knows it. I used to believe that Hawaii was a part of the USA, and it isn't. I don't think it ever was.

    2. Yet another beautiful place, rendered otherwise by democrats.
We're the last line of defense, and I'm not feeling particularly confident about my fellows.

  3. I used to pick up hitchhikers. There was one 80 year old man that I would pick up on a regular basis named Frank. He was homeless, but his clothes always looked freshly washed. Evidently he had a friend who would let him shower, shave, and wash his clothes -- but the friend's wife wouldn't let him spend the night there.

In any event, when Frank was 8 years old his step-father would beat the hell out of him and his mom. He decided to run away. The cops were called and dragged him back to the house. He told them if they brought him back, he would just run away again.

So they put him in a mental institution -- at 8 years olds -- because he didn't want the sh*t beat out of him. This was around 1940.

When Frank turned 21, he announced the staff that he was 21 and that they had to let him out. The staff laughed and said that since he had been admitted against his will, it was up to the doctors -- paid by the state per head -- to decide if he should be let out. Frank was easy money for them, so of course they said no.

When Ronald Reagan "emptied the mental institutions", Frank was finally freed. I asked him what he thought of Reagan. He said the man was a saint. If it weren't for Reagan, he would still be a prisoner in the mental institution -- all because an 8 year old boy didn't want the sh*t kicked out of him.

  4. Yup, back in the day, regardless of age, a trip to an Insane Asylum was usually for life.
