See what happens when you lie?

A 13-year-old was shot and wounded by police at a San Bernardino cemetery Thursday after falsely claiming he killed three people and firing a gun while in confrontation with officers, officials said.

Around 1:50 p.m. Thursday, police received a call from a 13-year-old boy who reported that he had just killed three people, the San Bernardino Police Department said in a news release. (An investigation later found the claim to be untrue.)

  1. "the boy told the dispatcher, “If they don’t kill me, I’ll have to kill them,” apparently referring to officers who would be responding to the scene"

"The boy was calling from Pioneer Memorial Cemetery"

"The boy’s motive remains unknown and the investigation is ongoing."

Hmm... Better call Sherlock Holmes, this one's a real puzzle.

  2. And the parents are where? The kid knew how to use the tools at his disposal. He learned that somewhere. Kid has a few screws loose.

    1. By 2nd grade I knew where the shotguns were kept and the separate storage for the ammo. AND how to put them together.

Well over 50 years of knowing the tools and I haven't shot anyone. Yet. The knowledge issue here is inadequate morality, compassion, responsibility and consequences.
Darned hard to teach, especially to boys.

  3. Just 13, eh? This kid has a very promising career ahead of him, I can't wait to hear about his future exploits... if he survives into adulthood.

    1. Where'd you see that? The story doesn't mention him dying. It just says he was wounded.

  4. Gonna call it - suicide by cop. This whole scenario stinks for everyone involved.

  5. This kid has obvious mental problems and a death wish. Hopefully a gunshot wound will help clear his thinking.

  6. I hope he got the warning: Liar, liar pants on fire before they shot his ass or the million dollar civil suit will be justified.

  7. They should lead these articles with what the guy was wearing, so everyone "who cares" will know what to wear to the "mostly peaceful demonstrations"
