As the first commenter stated .... the elephant immediately showed gratitude to the scoop that help him out of the pit. Very touching. Humans could take a lesson from this grand animal. Gratitude is a rare thing these days of self centered assholes.
It's not just elephants. Any animal in distress knows when a human is trying to help and they respond accordingly. I once walked a cow with a stuck calf over a half a mile to a corral where we were able to pull the dead calf and save the mother cow. Under no other circumstances could I have guided a cow, while I was on foot, a half a mile to where I wanted it to go. Mama Cow knew I wanted to help her. Don't ask me how she knew but she did. And it's not the only time something like this has happened to me at our ranch.
That’s a clear sign of gratitude on the elephant’s part. Well done.
ReplyDeletePretty cool.
ReplyDeleteGood job, but the video ended as Dumbo was running off. A minute after he was nailed between the eyes by an Ivory poacher. I love happy endings.

ReplyDeleteMost humans could take lessons from lots of animals.
DeleteThat was a happy moment. High quality humans are a rarity. Ohio Guy
ReplyDeleteIntelligence is not limited to humans and has the capacity for gratitude; a quality lacking in so many people.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, the same elephant that is grateful today may be one rampaging through a village at a later time.

We sometimes forget just how smart elephants are. The moment of thanks was just a quick show of that intelligence.
