Fake as hell. Well below TCAS limits and the 737 would have to be running almost double the 380 speed to maintain the nose position shown in the video. In reality the 737 would have Gad to be flying in almost the same vector as the 380
ATC fucked up, they are supposed to keep three to five miles separation between aircraft depending on the distance from the source radar. Further, the Pilots shouldn't have allowed that to continue as well, TCAS should have been screaming in both of those Flight Decks.
Had that happen once somewhere over new mexico. There was a few hundred feet of separation so I figured it was intentional but it still scared the shit out of me. CBDR is no good (for the sailors out there).
Definitely CGI, note the lack of definition of the clouds and the lack of reflection from the A380. Also wings curve upward as they generate lift. RVSM (Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum) is 1,000ft and everyone has ADS-B out now, it's a super TCAS, each airliner is broadcasting it's speed, altitude and course constantly and receiving that data from all nearby aircraft. The computers then warn the crew if the flight paths will cross.
I bet that airplane smelled like sh&*
ReplyDeleteGee, I thought there was an FAA reg requiring a 3 mile separation. Nemo
ReplyDeleteA plane full of people with dirty underwear.

ReplyDeleteIf that is not a computer animation I'll eat my hat.
ReplyDeleteAnd the airlines are telling us the have problems with passengers jeopardizing safety...Riiiiight.
ReplyDeleteCGI from a flight simulator.

ReplyDeleteThere's an air traffic controller and or pilots who should lose their jobs.
ReplyDeleteWhere the hell did this go on?
ReplyDeleteOn a CGI computer screen.
DeleteAnd pants were shat
ReplyDeleteNo TCAS installed or pilots ignored it...
ReplyDeleteBet the line formed up at the rest room pretty damn quick after that.

ReplyDeleteRVSM, 1000 feet is not that much.
ReplyDeleteAlfalfa
Grim Reaper was only 75' away...Wha?...too close? Hehheh! Ohio Guy

ReplyDeleteAl_in_Ottawa
Yep
DeleteIt looks really bad when they cross paths
CGI or not, I have been in a plane that experienced "wake turbulence" from following too close behind another aircraft. that was scary stuff
