It’s at least the sixth illegal dumping arrest on the Suncoast since February, the third in Charlotte County.
According to an arrest warrant, deputies responding to an anonymous complaint on Bermont Road found a fiberglass enclosure 8 feet long, 5 feet wide and 6 feet high, sitting abut 20 feet from the roadway. A large pile of animal droppings suggested it was used as animal shelter.

Hell, all he had to do was put a For Sale sign on it and some dope fiend would've stolen before he got back to his house.
I just bought a place. Lots of stuff I don't want. I put it on the road with a free sign and it's gone within hours. Hell, they even take my free sign. Had three big barrels of molasses and helped load them with my tractor. Point is, don't trash shit someone else may want it.
ReplyDeleteFelony charges seems like overcharging for this.
ReplyDeleteUsually felony dumping charges are reserved for toxic waste or when thousands of pounds of trash are dumped.
Neighbor had an old lawn mower he wanted to get rid of. He put it by the street with a "FREE" sign on it. Nothing doing, sits for several days with no takers. I advise him to put a "FOR SALE" sign on it with $10 or best offer. He did. Next day someone stole it.
ReplyDeleteSame thing happened to my little brother with a picture tube TV set after he bought his first flat screen, except his TV was 'stolen' within an hour or two.
DeleteDid the same thing with an old fridge that still worked but we had no more use for it at the office...."Free to good home" was the sign.....sat there for a week.....put a for sale sign "200.00 or best offer"....it was stolen that night....
