I spent two hours under the house this morning clearing a clogged drain. A good chunk of the time was getting to the pipe and getting out -- twice (not a lot of room in the crawlspace).
Why twice? Well, of course I forgot a couple of things the first time.
#4. That accident happened in Luling, Texas. The town is about 45minutes south of Austin, Texas. Those big wings are shipped from Germany and land in Port Aransas, Tx. From there they are trucked to the western part of Texas to be installed in HUGE windmill farms. I try to get to Port Aransas a couple of times a year and have to go through that intersection. That intersection is only about 2 car lengths from the railroad crossing. I be the truck driver didn't make a big sweeping turn when he got there. Not hard to imagine that he didn't have the room to swing the truck to the left a lane width....Texas drivers are not forgiving; they don't like it when someone crowds "their" lane. So I bet that trucker made a typical right hand turn and the wing and/or the trolley got hung up on the curb. Another tidbit: Luling is a typical Texas railroad town. The main part of downtown faces the railroad. There usually is a line of stores, a main street with parking on both sides of the street, then a stretch of grass (probably railroad owned)and then the railroad. Oh and another tidbit...It is home to City Barbeque, that ranks in the tip 5 barbeque places in the state of Texas: https://www.citybbq.com/
