Most backyard chicken owners will agree that the single best part of keeping chickens is walking down to the coop each morning to collect eggs. How do you get chickens to lay eggs?
Each morning? I never see an egg in the morning, hell, I rarely see 2 eggs in the nesting boxes at the same time unless I go for several hours without checking - my birds all lay at different times during the day.
What kind of dogs, may I ask? I am going to own about -20 chickens by end of next month and have been thinking about getting dogs, but am concerned which breeds would protect them rather than attack them. Thanks in advance!
I don't know about any specific breeds. That asshole dog Jack is Pit and Catahoula and he's a real dick at times, but he pretty much ignores my birds as they all wander around the yard together. Just a matter of training them, I guess.
My wife collects 300 free range eggs every day my dogs roam with the hens keeping them safe from critters

Mine are usually done laying by mid to late morning on most days
