North Carolina: Gov. Cooper Vetoes Pistol Permit Repeal

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Governor Roy Cooper, who is no friend to the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens, also ignores the recommendations of law enforcement. Today, he vetoed House Bill 398, NC Sheriffs’ Association-backed legislation to repeal the pistol permit in favor of the federal NICS background check. This is the second piece of pro-Second Amendment legislation Gov. Cooper has vetoed this year, the first being a self-defense bill.

  1. It is my hope that these anti gun politicians are going to be made to pay come election time. The voters need to constantly reminded of the anti gun policies that the nanny state people have taken against freedom, come election time.

  2. It's always cute when people are surprised that a politician shows utter contempt and hatred for the populace. These same people must wonder where the sun goes at night.

  3. He basically said FU to the Sheriffs' Association and the people of NC. Pandering to his bases, as usual, in Raleigh, Charlotte, Asheville etc. The wife and I both got our CCW years ago so we do not have to go thru the permit to buy process. We just apply for renewal before it expires and good to go. Cooper and several others including Tillis need to go.
