There are many ways to store and prepare food, many of which are cheap and easy. However there are so many different things to try and prepare for and what seems like an endless list of variables to contend with. However, some people have special circumstances that makes proper preparation even trickier, and one of those groups are people with diabetes.

A year after the "collapse" there won't be as much need for diabetes medicine.
ReplyDeleteYou got that right. Not true for all but the wife took control of her life, got the weight off and got off the insulin.
DeleteThe secondary wave of deaths of medicine dependant people after even a temporary collapse is ugly. Katrina was a pretty good demonstration of that. At lot of people I know are on borrowed time and there's nothing to be done about it. Even if you could stock a reasonable lifetime of drugs the continuing care required is not replaceable.
ReplyDeleteThose who depend on meds need to make up their minds now. Slow, painful death in bed, or a chance to take as many with as possible.
ReplyDeleteThose who don't depend on meds face the exact same choice in the event of a systemic collapse. It won't work out very well for anyone.
DeleteI know I'm dead, but I hope at least someone can use the stuff I got stored up after then burn my corpse.
ReplyDeleteLast week, my GP informed me I was pre-diabetic. No mention of cinnamon and chromium supplements. Very informative article. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI read years ago that you can make insulin out of acorns.
