So no more window shopping then?

Amsterdam's mayor has stepped up her campaign to change the city's seedy image, scolding visitors who make the pilgrimage to its red-light district for treating sex workers like a tourist attraction. 
Calling their treatment "unpalatable" and "humiliating," Femke Halsema told the Amsterdam daily, Het Parool, that growing tourism to the red-light district was making it increasingly difficult for the city's sex workers to ply their trade safely or with dignity.

    Well we sure as hell want these ol whores to ply their trade without safety and dignity. Whats the world coming to when we strip a whore of her dignity. I gotta shake my head. In truth I love whores. They probably saved more marriages then any marriage counselor. I hit every whorehouse I could find between the states and SE Asia and tried to hit em all again on the way home. I've no problem with them atall.

      They aren't street walkers or whores but legal sex workers. Its foreign to our somewhat puritanical culture but its A-OK in many places and as such its quite literally no different than better working conditions any other workers.

    So Femke Halsema thinks all prostitutes are right out of Pretty Woman? That’s like saying, “Please avert your eyes while this homeless drug addict shits in front of your dining area.” The government wants dignity and privacy extended to those involved but refuses to impose any moral judgements. Life doesn’t work that way; respect is earned.
