  1. Many years ago my sister's dog amused them by standing where cicadas were emerging, eating them as fast as they appeared. Later that evening the dog crawled up next to her and her husband as they lay in bed. He then proceeded to vomit cicadas all over the both of them.

    1. Sounds like our goofy Schnauzer. She can't leave them alone.

    2. They've been coming out here too. My pups don't pay them any mind. Even if I could conjur a story, it couldn't top that one. Ohio Guy

    3. Years ago, I had a big 20lb tomcat. He came in one evening and immediately threw up a pile of around 100 grasshopper hind legs. Just those big rear legs, no other parts of the bugs. Would have loved seeing him catch and eat 50 grasshoppers.

    4. My dog did this with rabbits in the yard, lovely cleaning the carpet.

  4. Ya can usually tell when they have something in their mouths. Had an ol black Lab that just loved bees. She'd come sit in front of me with swollen lips and nose. I'd say, find a bee Daisy? Dumb dog never did leave a bee alone.

  5. My cats have been bringing in Cicadas all summer. They like to drop them on the tile floor and use them as "Buzzy Toy" hockey pucks. When I lived in New Mexico my cat hunted scorpions. He learned early on that if he knocked the tail off he could carry them home and play with them. When he got tired of the game, "WHAM". Exploded-view scorpion on the kitchen tile floor.
