  1. The temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus (Best and Biggest) wasn't brilliant white. Greek and Roman temples were generally painted, often in bright colors.

  4. The movie Gladiator with Russell Crow is a good one to watch for Roman scenes. Besides being a kick ass movie.

  5. The architecture is amazing. My preference is Greek mainly because they had no concrete. The Romans used concrete. Greek buildings are fitted together in ingenious fashion. Romanesque with the rounded windows is cool but I do like the Gothic more. I find the flying buttresses to increase nave height fascinating. I like it all just some stands out a bit more to me.
