DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A man operating a tractor mower is accused of dropping the mower blades on a 6-foot alligator and destroying an active gator nest in Daytona Beach, according to investigators with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
I understand attempts to cohabitate but, aren't gators considered a nuisance animal in most areas of Fla (like Daytona friggin Beach?!)
ReplyDeleteSounds like some southern gentleman wanted gator burgers and scrambled eggs. The fact this also makes local pets and children safer is just a bonus.
ReplyDeleteShoot, shovel, and shut-up doesn't do much good when someone else captures it on their cell phone. Gotta keep that shit on the down low.
ReplyDeleteSons a bitches are everywhere, why they protected?
ReplyDeleteIt goes back to the early 20th Century when they were hunted almost to extinction. Now, there are something like 1.5 million just in FL alone, with probably another million or so throughout the rest of the Southeast. At least, according to the Everglades park Ranger on a family trip last Spring.
