My new vehicle has no cap. just a spring loaded flap. cringe at it every time I fillup, because im SURE the enginerds thought about foreign opject/liquid entry....
#1 Reminds me of an event in Hawaii from the 1980s. It actually went to court. I forget the verdict. What happened was a low flying light twin had collided with a surfboard as the surfer had performed a 'fly away kickout' where when exiting a wave, the surfer launches body and board into the air. The surfer blamed the pilot and said he intentionally maneuvered toward the surfer. The pilot blamed the surfer and said he intentionally launched his board to strike the aircraft.
#4 So much wrong in one picture that I wonder if it's staged. He remains unaware. The kid is of an age she has to know she's doing wrong. The photographer acquiesces to the kid's malfeasance.
#5 Not a good dog, a great dog!
#7 An amazing achievement! It is not only derring do but extreme physical conditioning.
#4 - A 260Z cam into the shop one day. It started then stalled and wouldn't start again. It had spark but the fuel bowls of both carbs were full of water. The fuel line was pumping water.
Up on the lift to drain the tank and out came some water and then the drain plugged up. A screwdriver probe started the flow again. About six or seven gallons of water and a few gallons of gas came out. The tank came out of the car and I cleaned out about a pound of acorns, pebbles, dirt and sand. The lines got blown out and flushed with Dri-Gas as were the carbs. New filters and a tank flush and re-install later as well as a fill-up with fresh gas and all was good.
I found out later that the owners four-year old was helping daddy "feed" the car with handfuls of dirt and debris and the garden hose. Minimal parts on the bill, a few gaskets and filters but a whopping labor charge as it took most of a day and a half.
#6 Porch monkey?

My friend's new Nissan Patrol has no gas cap.
DeleteIf the electronic key is within range, a push on the gas flap causes it to open, and reveals the open filler neck.
Seems way too vulnerable to me - some guy with grudge and a lighter walks up while you are stopped at a light and WOOSH!
