#1 Always cross on two logs side by side and with a support pole long enough to touch bottom of what ever water you're crossing, unless the log is 3 or more feet in diameter.
Full blown face plant with flip over, completely debilitating nut crunch, self inflicted hammer blow to the noggin', taking somebody else over the edge with you...what's not to love?
