You should share the link to the outfit that designed and built that marvelous piece of wizardry. My gut says it is an American company. Totally customer oriented. Mill Tone
Met a fella in the Council Bluffs Bass Pro parking lot with that exact same rig 2 years ago. He was having a hell of a time getting into the truck due to one of the limit switches on the platform being out of adjustment and unable to lift and rotate as a result. I spent an hour in the rain and snow trying to get that damned thing to lift this guy into his truck using a leatherman. He had only taken delivery of it a month earlier.
There should probably be a label on the exterior like 'RESCUE HERE' pointing to the latch mechanism so emergency personnel know how to enter the vehicle. That's a lot of hardware with squat switches (microswitches), hydraulics, and such.
Have a friend who recently got one in a van style. His ALS is not going to slow him down for a while. He and his wife rode their Dual Sport bikes all the way the the Tierra Del Fuego about 6 years ago. From Oregon, via Canada. Go figure?
That's friggen sweet
ReplyDeleteAn ex-cousin modifies vans and trucks for disabled people. That was pretty cool.

ReplyDeleteI saw one of these at a job site in Mo. The owner said he had it done in KC.

ReplyDeleteThe company is AT Conversions. https://www.atconversions.com/
ReplyDeleteOne local here has one, and I asked about the seatbelt issue. His 'chair' has a seatbelt, and the chair itself locks into the platform.
Somebody loves his lady.
