The Salvation Army's Response to False Claims on the Topic of Racism

As the country celebrates Thanksgiving today, it is a welcome reminder of the things we are grateful for—and for the power of service on behalf of those who are less fortunate.

The Salvation Army mission statement clearly outlines our service: to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. That service, and our beliefs, are based solely on the Bible and that has not, and will not, change.

A couple readers left this link in the comments of the post I did earlier.
Hey, I'll give anybody a chance to explain their actions if I've been critical of them.
However, in the original post's link, there's another link that leads to a PDF (HERE) from the Salvation Army titled "Let's Talk About Racism" and on page 3 there's this:

• Move from the flawed human idea of race
and culture into God’s design and purpose
for us to live as a unified, diverse and
equitable people.
• Lament, repent and apologize for biases
or racist ideologies held and actions
committed.

I didn't read any further, but I'm not going to suggest that you don't either. Read it and draw your own conclusions.

  1. I absolutely find myself to be way too white to give them any of my racist cash from here until eternity. They went woke so now it's time for them to go broke.

    1. Yep. I read their statement on racism and it is pure CRT bullcrap. The Salvation Army got woke and now they're going to go broke because I will never give them a piece of my racist white money ever again as well.

    2. Is the word racism in the bible specifically? Why is the word in the credo print material. The words of our Savior tell us how to act, not, not act.

  2. The PDF linked to certainly looks to me to be critical race theory based stuff:
Race is not biological. It is a social construct.
What has not changed is that racial groups are placed into a hierarchy, with White or lighterskinned people at the top; non-Indigenous People Of Color (POC)
subjugated beneath lighter skinned people; Black and Indigenous people at the bottom of the racial system.

    1. You got that backwards: society is a racial construct. Each race makes a society that fits it. There are objective differences between them, but our race will always prefer our society to the other races'.

    2. Bullshit. Race is biological. Racial characteristics are strongly heritable. Behavior is downstream of genetics to a large degree. Culture is downstream of behavior and therefore biology.

And I’m not white. I’m doing just fine in the US as a proud American. The only people who’ve given me shit about my race are nonwhites, and that includes the idiots at the bottom of the heap, and the malignant psychopaths at the top.

  4. I posted this in the other thread, but am posting it here to be seen with the denial
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To those who are noting the Salvation Army is denying it, note the URL contains "myusa.org". If you go to https://www.salvationarmy.org/, you get the website of the international organization based in London, and scrolling to the bottom is the "International Social Justice Commission"; Just as the news articles said.

So it may be the international organization has become "woke", and the US organization is denying it & trying to distance themselves from it.

The question becomes, how much oversight does the international organization have over the US organization, and how intertwined are they?

    1. That's the million dollar question right there, isn't it? Not surprising to be in this circumstance, really. Satan loves hierarchies, corrupt the top and the whole thing comes apart, is turned to evil, etc. Transparency, accountability, and the top being held to the rules by the lower part is the ONLY way to have an enduring structure, and even that's no guarantee.

As our current situation in the US amply demonstrates.

  5. Thanks for the link.

Someone did an impressive job of working "social justice" into Biblical themes, but it is difficult to hide "equity","systemic racism", and "Whiteness", when they are the "Go To" for explaining failures to prosper and/or learn. Group identity is substituted for personal accountability. "Blame Satan" has been replaced with "Blame Whitey".

  7. Yes or no questions, no other answers or long explanations accepted: did you issue the position paper about racism? Did your spokesman Peddle publish the video?

Any, repeat ANY, time I see anything "viewed thru the lens of" I know I am hearing woke BS, CRT and its fellow travellers.

    I'm done with them.

  10. Salvation Army has been my favorite charity. They took a boy sick with pneumonia, found in a box car in the Chicago rail yards in winter and nursed him back to health. It was my dad, as a teenager during the depression, he was riding the rails to Chicago because he heard there was work there. The salvation army folks I’ve met seemed to be good people dedicating their lives to doing Gods work, and not getting rich doing it either. It’s not a stretch for folks who see humanity at is frailest to stay down the “woke” path

  11. The problem is the idiots who decide to put out papers like that get paid right up until the bankruptcy.

    1. Nope, your wrong...the problem is that this once worthy Christian charity, has been hijacked by the "synagog of satan tribe"....

  12. This is a huge disappointment to me. My dad was in the military, and while the Red Cross was not very helpful to him, the Salvation Army went above and beyond. I have always given to them, every Christmas.
Sadly because of this, I will have to continue to follow what I usually do, and that is to give locally as much as possible. I would rather give some bum panhandler 5$ to buy a sandwich, with the chance of him buying booze, than to give to an organization that is using it to spread CRT or whose leadership goes to lunch with the SPLC.
I have gotten to the point where I will tip at a fast food joint, when I stop for a coffee. The girl working the window tried to stop me, but for my 1$ McDonald's coffee, I make her take a 5$ bill. I know, they get paid quite a bit now, but at least I know that I made someone's day who is willing to work for a living.
And I am blessed to be able to tip like that on occasion. Not rich, but on a fixed income, with no debt, God takes care of us.

  13. I sent 'em an email, told 'em they'll never get another dime from me, and gave them a bunch of bible verses featuring God being rayciss.
    Deuteronomy 20:16-18
    Leviticus 25:39-46
    1 Samuel 15:18
    1 Kings 11:2
    Isaiah 60:12
    Malachi 1:2-3
    Matthew 15:22-28
    Romans 9:13
    Revelation 5:9
Look 'em up. If racism is a sin, God's a sinner.

    1. Nothing in any of these references about "racism" ... all of them show God's righteous hatred against the sins of those who hate him or oppress his people. In fact, your last verse proves that God loves all races. Yes, there's a lot about slavery, which was common in EVERY civilization at the time, but God spoke to people in a frame of reference they would understand.

  14. I was always impressed with the Salvation Army's disaster relief work especially compared to the Red Cross. But now I will direct my support to Samaritan's Purse, another stellar relief organization that doesn't feel the need to lecture me about race.

  15. If I recall correctly, the Bible condemns homosexuality and its practice. The New Zealand website of the Salvation Army has this declaration:

    https://www.salvationarmy.org.nz/news/salvation-army-supports-proposed-conversion-practices-prohibition-bill

So to say that they adhere to the teachings of the Bible is demonstrably false.

Then they support the COVID "vaccine" which has proven adverse effects:

    https://www.salvationarmy.org.nz/news/international-leader-salvation-army-signs-covid-19-vaccine-equity-declaration

Since they are stating one thing and practicing another, then clesarly they are lying, one way or another.

  16. I already sent my annual check but they shouldn't count on any additional donations unless and until they apologize for this "White guilt" crap. Highly disappointed in them.
